Technical Site Tour
The day will commence with a guided tour of the Port of Cork: one of only two Irish ports which service the requirements of all six shipping modes: lift-on lift-off, roll-on roll-off, liquid bulk, dry bulk,
break bulk and cruise. The Port’s facilities and operations are situated at four distinct locations in Cork’s natural deep water harbour and the tour will highlight the Port’s modern deepwater facilities.
Since 1990 the Port of Cork has invested €79 million in new and improved facilities. Highlights will include a visit to the National Maritime College of Ireland and the passenger and cargo handling
terminals in Ringaskiddy before a trip around the harbour to Cobh. From Cobh, the journey will continue to the Old Distillery at Midleton. You will visit the Brew House
and walk through the recreated distillery scene at the Old Cooperage to finish at the Jameson Bar. Complete the experience with the option of enjoying a full whiskey tasting before a relaxing lunch in
the Malt House Restaurant. Look, listen and learn, not to mention have your palate tickled by the unmistakable mellow taste of the Irish whiskey and hospitality.
